(In the Madeleine district, across from the church actually)
We ate here the day we arrived in Paris and again the day we left. Wife bookmarked it on Yelp and it was also mentioned in Rick Steves book. Be prepared when you walk in, the smell of truffles will hit you in the face. Dinner service at 7pm I believe (not as early as US folks), service staff can converse in English which is helpful when spending $200+ on food. Got the papardelle with black truffles and ribeye with black truffles. Very rich meal, bottle of wine definitely needed.
Not a real truffle fan before, still not a fanatic afterwards. But wife likes it. My favorite was actually the free, simple bread pairing with truffle infused olive oil. The steak was seasoned well, but bite after bite of shaved black truffle is too overpowering for me. Luckily the greens help clean the palate a bit. Opt for lunch here, then go over to the Opera Garnier and get a same day 10 euro ticket for whatever is playing that night. We caught a horrible ballet in the nosebleeds with snobby frenchies, but it was a memorable experience.
