Tracts within a Community

Kind of a random question, hope someone out there can provide insight.

Is it better to live in the cheapest, most expensive, or median tract within a community...

Currently there are 4 developed tracts in my community
1 - 1700-2k sq ft price is around mid-high 500's
2 - 2k - 2.2k sq ft price is low 6's - high 6's (tract I purchased)
3 - 2.8k - 3.4k sq ft price is high 8's - mid 9's
4 - 3.8 - 4.5k sq ft price is 1.1 +

There are four more proposed tracts in the community, the sales lady was saying most of these homes will be 1 mil +

Seeing how I purchased near the lower end of the totem pole, would this be beneficial for me later on down the road?  I'm thinking since most homes are close to 1 mil, it makes the community relatively exclusive and desirable, and since I own a cheaper home, it'd be an easier sell in the future?  Lower cost to live within the community?

My two cents:

#2 is a better option. That's mostly the size of a house average family of four needs. If things go downhill, % of loss won't be too steep, and if things pick up, you will make good money. Easy to rent if need be.

I would buy #3 or #4 only if I love the house, and need the space for my family, and can justify my purchase no matter the housing market condition.

Thanks for the input.  Yeah these are all SFR's, did not want to buy condo/townhouse due to lack of demand from older gen Asians (primary force driving So Cal real estate right now)...

It's scary how fast prices have appreciated, I bought in APR-12 for 614,500, now the same plan is selling for 686,500, and it's still selling out the minute the phase is release...  Guess I got lucky with the timing.
