"Three 16-year-old Arcadia High School students beat the odds last November and each earned a perfect score on the SATs, one of the most difficult and stressful test for high schoolers.

Hanah Lee, Titus Wu and Jeffrey Wang all took the same SAT prep course, but they said it was what they did throughout their school careers and during their free time that might have been the real reason for their big accomplishment."

Chinese name give a handicap to SAT.  So true for college admissions.  The Asian handicap is getting higher & higher every year.

good for them.
in reality though, college admission don't distinguish much between 2400 and 2200+. trying to take the test many times to aim for perfection is just a waste of time.

They did get in the news though, so a perfect score does help in influencing admissions.

Are you kidding me?
I thought the goal of the SAT was to get the highest score.

You might actually not even get admitted at "lesser" schools under the assumption that you wouldn't end up going there anyways. So yes, you can totally have a higher score work against you.

+1.  Stanford rejects 70% of students with perfect scores.  Plus, it's one thing to take the test on your first try and get a 2400.  But it's a different story when you take the test 3 times, two times in the 2300s with the final time at a 2400.  Colleges would rather you do something more productive with that time.
