Not shown: salad and soup.
Arrived Sunday night with reservation, but the hostess was MIA (see below). Waited around a bit before the hostess appeared and said they were packed, and it'd be 15-20 min wait for table, but we can go eat at the bar area with full menu. So, OK, we sat down at a table by the bar area and was ignored for the next 10+ mins. Went back to hostess and told her we'd take a table.
Service was slow and I observed the hostess running around helping to clear/set tables, which explains her absence from the front station. This gives a rather poor impression when the hostess is not there to greet customers as they enter and leave. Anyways, we decided to order the rib eye from the menu and was told that groupon offer doesn't include main entrees over $28.xx and we were supposed to have been given a different (cheaper) menu. So we settled on lamb loin and NY Steak with house salad, soup, tuna appetizer, and desert.
At this point, let me just say that if you dine here, skip the appetizer (burnt), salad ($10 for what?), soup (they gave me a different soup from what I ordered), and go directly to the entree's. We had asked if we could pay extra on top of the groupon to order rib eye but they said NO. I even offered to pay extra service fee.
The proteins were cooked perfectly. And I mean it was one of the best NY Steaks I've had, and the lamb was delicious. I also noticed that on the groupon menu they have sand dabs, which is not found on the regular menu, but you can always ask for it.
We had asked for b?arnaise sauce with the steak. It was probably the absolute worst b?arnaise sauce I'v ever tasted. Even the worst attempts at making b?arnaise sauce at my school (Laguna Culinary) by rich OC house wives were far better than this @%@##!% crap. Thankfully they had A1 for us.
The desert? Cold and uninspiring. I recommend skipping it. Drop by 85C on the way back from 405 FWY and get dessert at the crepe place next door instead. On the upside, the waiter knew we were unhappy and gave us a $25 gift certificate.
