I follow fashion. There, I said it.

Not closely, from a distance as is appropriate for my age and the size of my backside. But, I like to look at it. And Im aware of Ms. Wintours reputation. Basically it was either see this or "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" and since Id gotten the scratch-n-sniff of the latter, this seemed like a better idea. We were pretty much just seeing something to be in the air-conditioning.

It was interesting, not amazing but it was clear that Ms. Wintour has a fairly large streak of ruthlessness and that she's surrounded by some genuinely talented people, as well as some real characters, and comic relief. The documentary is about Vogues 2007 September Issue, and all of the things that go well, and go wrong. The person that I really enjoyed was Grace Coddington. She's obviously a talented dresser, stylist and even photographer. I think her vision is very clear and compelling.

As the documentary ended I realized that though they had talked a little about Anna Wintour, and her early life, she remained as much of an enigma as when the documentary began.

Overall Id give it a b-

Wow, I have no idea what you are talking about. Sorry. I guess my, "Does it have any holes or stains and does it still fit me?" standards just wouldn't apply. Once again, I guess this is what having kids will do to you. They are dressed pretty well though.

I follow fashion too and I would have been irritated after watching the documentary if she is as elusive in it as she appears to be in real life. Wintours is the editor-in-chief of Vogue magazine and I believe that Meryl Streep's character in the book (and then movie) The Devil Wears Prada was inspired by Wintours.

I try really hard to not follow fashion. Not because I don't like it but because I find it too hard to look and not buy. Our culture here views fashion as trivial. I view fashion as an Art form, a very powerful and influential one of our times. In Italy there is a lot more respect for fashion. The librarian at my kids school in Florence would ride her motorini in deck out in the latest fashion and 6 inch heels. Can you imagine if an Irvine librarian came to school like this? Everyone would be asking 'why so dressy?'

Europeans, especially Italians love their fashion. But a librarian decked out to the T with 6 inch heels? Interesting...

Hey, stop fantasizing about our librarian. T is too busy working 10 professional trades. You need to narrow it down to one so you can fit in a date or two. :)

That issue is why my mailbox key is bent. It was so big it got caught up in the door locking mechanism and I had to have the mailperson hand-deliver my mail after opening it from the back.

I have read mixed reviews on the movie. I might see it. I believe that the side of Anna Wintour that is revealed is exactly what she wanted to be seen. She knows what she's doing.

I did catch "The Day Before" on the Fendi runway show. On the Sundance channel. Karl Lagerfeld is hard core.
