The Office - Season Premiere Tonight

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
oh geeze, I had it on DVR and I was running 30 minutes behind. I was almost caught up. Was on like 9 30 on the DVR and it was 9 54. Then my foot actually changed the channel and I change it back and now I am live at 9 54. So looks like I need to watch it online and find out why all of a sudden they are wearing trash bags.

I watched it live for once (I usually forget and watch it on Tivo later). Graph sorta watched, but he was really reading Calculated Risk.

I was a little disappointed. It wasn't quite as funny as I had hoped. I was sure Andy's solution to winning the contest would be everyone removing their clothes then I was even more sure when he turned the thermostat up haha. I think the best part was Dwight putting the fruit in the vending machine. In case anyone missed it - Jim proposed to Pam.

Totally agree. Although, it is pretty hard to top the start of last season. Those 1 hour episodes (I think there was 4 of them) that kicked off the season last year all were classics.

I really like the Jim/Ryan conflict.

R "I have a new lease on life, I'm even doing community service."

J "You mean the court ordered community service?"

R "No one has to tell me to give back to the community"

J "But they are"

Adds Jim to the list.

Haha! That looks good.

It is sad that the original Office is now referred to as the "other" Office. I held off watching the NBC version because the original was so good -- I knew that the NBC version would disappoint. Although I think the NBC version was smart to go in a different direction, I still think it is a poor substitute for the original.

I'm glad you brought it up skek, I wasn't going to say anything, but after watching the original I saw about 3 minutes of the US version and really couldn't watch any more...I didn't know they'd gone in a different direction with it though...

Did you ever see "Extras"? Also written by Rickie Gervais , it was nothing short of fantastic..

My two cents.. I watched a few episodes of the UK version (before watching the US version) and didn't care for it. But then again, I was never into British humor. The Office UK was funny but I enjoy the US version so much more.

Agreed. They bring their "A-game" every episode. (but it will still slide to the rear burner once LOST gets going again.)

Don't forget "24."

The Royle Family is, IMHO one of the best Comedies to ever come out of the BBC.

The sad part is, this is how I grew up! This would be a typical Sunday evening, watching the Telly, Dad's were always angry and sarcastic and nobody ever took any notice of them, Mums' were always trying to keep the peace and the Blokes just wanted to go up the Pub...this, I think, is why this series won so many awards, it was so realistic....
