So there was this old thread:

But times have changed, Jalapeno's in Irvine has closed...

Rubios has TT for their fish tacos ($1.99?)
Chronic still has theirs ($1 off?)
Del Taco's infamous 3 for $1.69 (used to be 99 cents back in the day)
Cafe Rio's is $2.50
Jalapeno's in Tustin ($2.50?)

I personally like going to Casa Franco's in Mission Viejo.

Also Hole Mole but the Tustin one only has limited outdoor seating so I go to the Costa Mesa one.

Where do you TT at?

Jalapeno in Irvine and Tustin used to be my favorite. I went to both places weekly until Irvine one closed and OC Health reported rodent infestation few times on Tustin location.

I was at Village Market across the street from Spectrum getting a soda yesterday, and noticed that they had a sign up for Taco Tuesday special, 3 tacos for $6.99. I confirmed with the cashier that it's avail for both lunch and dinner. I have not actually tried the tacos there since I already had lunch.

For bougie/sit-down, Cha Cha's Latin Kitchen in Marketplace is half off tacos and tequila Tuesday. Makes 3 tacos $8 (+tax/tip) I think. Their margaritas are pretty legit too. Also they have live music Tuesday night. Only problem is they get busy fast on Tuesday. After 5:30pm there is likely a wait.

I noticed the "suggested" tip amount on the receipt at Cha Cha's is on the original amount before Taco Tuesday discount, which is about double. I ended up tipping the 18% suggested tip (around double the Taco Tuesday price) because I felt too cheap leaving the tip based on the amount spent when it would be half the suggested receipt amount.

Not a deal breaker but just a heads up. At least no upcharge for steak yet!

Went yesterday and was told it's only avail for dinner. But they did have to go lunch boxes at 1/2 price (obviously near expiration date), marked down from $9 to $4.50.

I tried Taco Bell's new Crispy Melt Taco:

The main difference (other than the cheese layer at the bottom) is that the shell is a in-store fried white corn shell... not their normal prepackaged ones.

Also, Mexican Pizza is back... mmmm.

Just found out that Miguel Jr's has 2 tacos for $5.69(?) that isn't just on Tuesdays but running for a limited time.

Decent crispy tacos for less than $3 each.

And yes, I've tried those taco stands on Tustin Ranch (both near Tustin Legacy and the McDonalds off Bryan)... not impressed.

The $3 Taco Bell menu is pretty good. The double stacked taco is very tasty. Their other items come standard with chicken bit you can swap it out for ground beef. They had some milkshakes as a test item recently at the one on barranca and were pretty tasty. They will be rolling those out everywhere later this year

They will have cheesy chicken crispanada, nuggets, cheesy street chalupas and other items.

Just when you think they can’t come up with a new variation with their same 7 ingredients they continue to innovate. Best fast food restaurant around!

The tajin twists and tajin taco are available at the Taco Bell on barranca.

Picked up a mobile order and saw them on the menu at the drive thru

Are the test items not available on the app? That's annoying.

If you work by Spectrum, the W café at 20 Pacifica had Taco Tuesday yesterday with taco bar:

Not sure if this will be on going or just one off.

p.s. the Korean BBQ burger at Shake Shack was... pretty lame. But a new KBBQ place will be moving in across from the theatre.
shake shack didn’t make it? That’s pretty funny, I think it’s just a marginal burger anyway, but East Coast people think it’s the bomb🤦🏽‍♂️😂😂😂

No, it was mediocre in appearance, taste, and quantity/quality. Still hungry after eating it. If anyone is going to buy the burger there, I recommend ordering a double (2 patties).

Actually the burger at W Cafe (20 Pacifica) is better. About same price ($10) and served on a real plate with chips. Short walking distance from Shake Shack @ Spectrum.

If you're really hungry, try The Grill at 300 Spectrum Center Drive for their burritos.

For salads, Spectrum Kitchen at 400 Spectrum Center Drive.

After Slater 50/50 closed I tried a number of places like "Hole in the Wall Burger" in Lake Forest, but was never really satisfied. Used to drive out to Sapphire in Laguna Beach but they charge $20-$23 for the burger now. 💰
