I expected more from a Sunset house.  The gardens featured in Sunset are spectacular.  This one is just meh.

Did you view the slideshow? It's beautiful. You would need a big lot to fit that yard in. Hard to find that size lot in Irvine.

Not too hard... you gave one up yourself.

It's 1/3 of an acre (over 14,000 sq feet). I never had a lot that big.

Plus it's almost 8000 sq feet.

But besides that, the work they put into it is beautiful. Beamed/coffered ceilings, wainscot, leaded and beveled glass doors, lots of display cabinets, more than one balcony, big shade trees, big pool with lots of decking...

I don't like slate but other than that, I love the outdoor kitchen. I'd be too impatient to wait for that pizza oven to heat up (hours) but still...... would be a great house for entertaining.

That house has a lot of what I call, "character".

It's 11 years old. Maybe over the years there are a lot less flowers (seems like most of the newer homes that start out with lots of color end up having evergreen bushes replacing flowers) or maybe we aren't seeing the entire lot.

Too bad there isn't an ocean view, but for then it's be even more out of our reach. lol!
