Sunday Brunch Downsized at the Hyatt Newport Beach

We splurge about once a year at the sunday brunch at the Hyatt Newport Beach and went today to avoid the Mother's Day crowds next week. We were surprised to find out that the brunch was downsized with less offerings (no carving station and no shellfish etc.) but at a lower price of $25 per adult vs. $45-$50 per adult. The staff said this occured at the beginning of the year after very low attendance at brunch. We still enjoyed our brunch. BTH, the full restored brunch will be available for Mother's Day.



Newport beach is not immune to the economy. As predicted by many bubble bloggers, the higher cost areas will get hit after the less desireable neighborhoods.
 
even at $25 that is quite expensive for what you're getting. the spread at orange hill is ridiculous, comparable to something you might find at one of the better buffets in vegas, for $30. we're also fans of the anaheim hills golf course. they have a carving station, shrimp cocktail, king crab, oysters, etc. there's usual live jazz as well. $25

is that the golf course off the 91 at green river?

No that golf course is called Green River. Anaheim Hills is more inland
