We're currently in escrow on our house. Just got the disclosure forms. We have to disclose that we live in a condo. As if the <em>common walls</em> weren't a tip-off. This is why we're in this mess--regulation in place of common sense and critical thinking.



EDIT: I should clarify: Regulation where it shouldn't be instead of where it should.

Many years ago, a woman at my place of employment got sunburnt while wearing shorts on the job. Most of our work is outdoors. She sued my employer. We can no longer wear shorts at work. True story.

Sorry, I do not remember the details. I just remember that we can not wear shorts because someone can not take responsibility for their sunburn. And our society encourages irresponsible behavior.
