Stale Zestimates

It looks like Zillow hasn't updated any of their zestimates for Orange County in over five weeks now. Last update was on 9/11 for any home I look at. In the past, it seems they updated every 2-3 week. Are they concerned about setting off a riot by exposing declines in OC property values? Or have their algorithms all just flat-lined due to lack of transactions?

I was able to find some sales toward the end of september and one in October in the Newport Area, but that's it. I used a couple addresses in Irvine, MV, LN, and LF and the latest sale dates for comps was 8/31.

Interesting.....

The word from zillow is it's their computers:

As many of you have noticed, the last Zestimate update was pushed to the site on September 11, which is not as frequent as we'd like.

In addition to several technical issues that have come up in recent weeks preventing planned Zestimate updates, we are working on releasing a major algorithm improvement and additional data coverage.

We plan to push out updated Zestimates by month's end -- thanks for your patience

Thanks for the link, CaliGuy. After poking around on the zillow forums I learned more than I ever cared to know about Zestimates. I should have looked there first. Thanks again.

Zillow said they've now updated the Zestimates. I've heard a couple people say they seem to have all gone up, not reflecting actual market conditions (but is it that hard to blame them - if they base part of their info on comps, and nothing new has sold, what are you going to do?)
