Solar AC?

I was at Coscto today and saw they were selling solar AC units.

Now, considering that most of the electricity hit we experience is from using the AC (unless you are bones running her TigerMom.com server farm), would having a solar AC unit make sense?

I got a quote from Costco for regular AC replacement for my other place. It was more than double the price of the other small contractor. But to address your question regarding solar for AC. I think it doesn't make sense. Why not get it for the whole house?

Because it's fugly?

2 more of my neighbors just put up solar panels. One of them just yesterday. Stevie Wonder would cry at how hideous they are. I won't even get into the cost/value. I'll just run with fugly. That's reason enough.

How much was it?  All comes down to price.  Our family probably uses under $50/month from SCE max.. maybe averaging around $30.  The only time it goes up higher is because of the AC.

Yeah... they had that big Lennox unit in the store so I though that it had solar panels on it but from the site you have to install those larger panels,

So still ugly.
