Nothing new about this around the neighborhooh due to all the HOAs with some obscene rules, but that tow truck operator damaged my car. My Toyota Corolla needs dollies if you tow it on the back, so you either bring a flat bed, or pull it up on the front. Well, it was dragged like 10 miles from Irvine to Santa Ana with the front on the road, and one of the front tire is completely bald on one spot all the way. A few more yard, and you will see the wires. I want the tow company to pay for this, and the manager was negotiate the rate say he pay 60%, and I pay the 40% since the tire is one year old.
When I pick up the car, I signed this BS statement about not making them liable for damage to my car and property. The manager did not pull that on me, but he was difficult to work with.
The HOA need to hire some professional tow truck company, not some yahoos. I will bring my car to get it fixed, but do I need to watch out for other damage besides the tires? Will I need alignment/balancing, and or look for physical damage to the front axis? If I have a tough time to get the reimbursement, what card can I pull on them? I was thinking about filing a grivance against the HOA, and see if that get the HOA to at least switch to a more reputable company. How about filing a complaint with the BBB?
