Google staff complained word FAMILY instead of children was homophobic

Google had to rethink the word 'family' in March 2017 when staff complained
Employees at California HQ said the term was 'offensive, inappropriate, homophobic, and wrong' when used in a presentation about a children's product
Approximately 100 people seemed to agree with an internal thread from someone who stormed out of the offending meeting two years ago
The person said the word 'family' is not equal to having children and Google should stop the use of it in that context
Various employees said they referred to animals, spouses, boyfriends, parents,and  multiple trans-feminine partners as their family
It was also said not all children have families so the words aren't interchangeable
VP Pavni Diwanji told staff to be more conscientious about referring to family

Phoenix restaurant says this is a photo of coal miners. But I see offensive blackface

A few weeks ago, I attended a holiday party at a downtown Phoenix restaurant. I walked around to view the photographs on the wall.

Then a photograph caught my attention.

Friends said, ?It?s coal miners at a pub after work.? It was a photograph of coal miners with blackened faces. I asked a Latinx and white woman for their opinion. They said it looked like coal miners at a pub after work. Then they stepped back, frowned and said it?s men in blackface.

I asked the waitress to speak with a manager. Instead, I spoke with a white restaurant owner. I explained to him why the photograph was offensive. Evidently, someone else had made a similar comment about the photograph before.

Yet, the photograph remained on the wall. He said he would talk to the other owners and get back to me. While leaving, I asked him had he spoke with the other owners. He had not spoken with them, but mentioned Google said it's coal miners after work.

What are you talking about read the thread?
1. I called him out because Morekas posted articles that may offend people.
2. Morekas confirmed it as he mentioned this is the point of the thread. Also, he mentioned it drives dialogue.
3. So I?m the bad guy? When I?m standing up to him/calling him out that posting articles about ?blackface? stories is not cool?
4. I said maybe you are okay with Morekas posts that are hateful in nature. Because you didn?t say nothing to him. Nothing at all.

That?s what this thread is all about, snowflakes taking meaningless, mundane things and conflating them into racist, phobic issues that butthurt their tender, pampered self image. Not at all hateful but clearly ?funny?.  Comedy is truly dead. Does anyone think movies like Airplane, Blazing Saddles, Animal House or Soul Man could ever be made today? Oh hell no, but they are some of the funniest ever created. My kids love those movies.  PC has moved into the realm of bats#*t crazy and That?s sad. I find these extreme stories tragically funny, and that?s too bad
