EAT HERE.

Traveled to FV tonight to dine at SSG since we found an old gift card with credits on it still.  Went with the yakitori side since I don't really care for their ramen (Santouka or Kairakutei for me).  They take reservations, which is a plus.  Seats are cramped and separate parties next to each other don't get much privacy.  Feels like Japan.  On to the food.

Chicken gizzard was delicious, I would say better than Honda Ya's
chicken leg meat with onion was decent but the sauce at HY is better
Got two order of chicken skin, the regular and "special", decent but felt guilty eating it
basil squid skewers was the best dish of the night

If you feel brave, order the Horumon Udon.  It is definitely not for the timid.  Spicy, oily udon, stir fried with mystery cuts of animal parts that most people don't eat.  Horumon (from Bizarre Foods) is usually the gristle, fatty, trachea, etc. parts of chicken or pork that is usually thrown away but eaten by poor folks during hard times (i.e. peasant food).  I felt kinda sick afterwards.

As for draft beer, the only choice is Sapporo, which is not bad but not as good as Kirin.  I still don't know why several Japanese restaurants (that's you Fukada) don't serve fresh Kirin brewed here in the states but opt for stuff imported from Japan that always have a skunky taste to it.

Probably won't be coming back since Honda Ya is so close and they still have Kirin draft.
