Orange County sheriff?s officials are searching for an inmate who escaped from an Irvine detention center.

Deputies said inmate Max Edward Fernandez, 27, was discovered missing Friday during a security check at the James A. Musick Facility, an Irvine honor farm for low-threat offenders. He apparently disappeared about 4 p.m.

Fernandez was in custody for possession of stolen property and a narcotic violation, officials said. He also has a criminal history of burglary, theft, narcotics violations, auto theft and resisting arrest, they said.

He is described as a white male, 5 feet 8 inches, about 170 pounds with tattoos on his upper right arm and back. He was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt and red shorts beneath gray sweat pants, according to officials.

Authorities said Fernandez may have injured or cut himself during his escape.

First time I've ever encountered the term "honor farm"  ;D.

Looks like that guy got tired of farming honor...  ;D

Ack!  Escape from The Farm!?!

This is my biggest worry about moving my family to Baker Ranch.

Irvine, what were you thinking putting a minimum security prison within city limits...

When I go way, way east of San Diego, I noticed that there's a jail somewhere in that general area.  I always think nobody could get away alive from that place since there's no cover and nothing around for miles.  There's tons of open space down in places like that to open a second or third facility or expand it?  At 118 degrees I don't think you'll want to try to escape too often.  :P

That Irvine jail is right near a customer's office.  I was very surprised the first time I saw the fence there right smack near office bldgs.  I wouldn't want to work near there either.

I grew up there. I believe there are three federal prisons.

Like infantry through Tiberium fields.

LOL.  I haven't played Command & Conquer since the original on my Pentium back when the first version of direct x was out.
Heh... I knew you would get it out of everyone on here. That's probably the last PC game I've played... could never get into MMOs or FPS games.

Wow, Mr. QWERTY, I am not messing around with you then, sir.  Which nice facility were you living in?  Just kidding.  :P

If you want to play a free PC game, try this:http://worldoftanks.com/
It was funded by the Russian mafia.  Good game.  Each game only takes 5 minutes, so you can hop on and off easily.
You start off with crappy tanks, and as you play you earn bigger tanks, and bigger guns.

I'm going to try it but I have to say this is probably one of the biggest swerves I've seen in a thread.. or is it related to jail because of the Russian mafia connection?
