2-3 hrs at Santa Ana Zoo, then 2-3 hrs another day at Irvine Regional Park zoo and you've pretty much seen it all.
I believe the Environmental Nature Center in Newport Beach may have their butterfly exhibit up and running. That's another interesting thing for a little one to do.
