I took my dad out while he was in town last week.  We were both in the mood for some good family owned Italian food so we headed over to Roma D'Italia in Tustin.  The food and service are both outstanding hence this place being packed mid-week.

i love calzones, ill have to get some take out from here to try it out.
My mom and her boyfriend told me about the place a few years ago.  They had a complete remodel of the restaurant that took like 6 months and they re-opened it about 4 months ago.  I saw a handful of people grab take-out when I was there.

Really good food! Next time try the eggplant sorrentino :)
I think the service was even better, they had a refills on the table before you could finish your drink.  I left a tip of about 40% since it was well deserved.

Be honest - did you leave a 40% tip because the service was that good, or was it partly because you had a hot waitress?

Nice review
Is this a family place?
40% is very generous
They have 3 restaurants in Orange County.  My mom's boyfriend told me that they were family owned a few years ago when he recommended the place to me.  The bill was less than $30 so the tip wasn't a huge amount.  The waitress was easy on the eyes but more than that she couldn't have provided any better service.

We used to go to Peppinos at the Woodbury Town Center but it closed and the space became a Chase Bank
This seems like a nice place

This place feels a bit more casual than Peppinos.  If you like Peppinos, you should like Roma D'Italia.

Have gone there quite a few times over the years and I recommend them.

There is a smaller family place in Lake Forest called Tutto Famiglia that is also great (free garlic bread similar to Bella Cuba).
