Just picked up two buckets of black cherry from the rite aid on Alton...normal price is $4.96...so this should be a good price, you'll need their invasion of privacy track ur shopping habits wellness card though to get the price... Still my favorite cherry ice cream..

Anyone know where they still sell scooped rite aid ice cream?  I remember it was $0.69 a scoop at my old thrifty stomping grounds on Harbor and Wilson.  Always service with a scowl...

RiteAid on Culver and Michelson, next to the Wholesome Choice... I think it's the only one left... but I haven't been to any other RiteAids.

I had my ice cream for 5 cents per scoop at Thrifty, JJ Newberry and Zody's. Woolworth even had a lunch counter where I watched other wealthy kids had their sundaes.

I love Thrifty ice cream! I know it's Rite Aid now, but it will always be Thrifty to me.

I used to eat my ice cream sitting on a huge plastic cow, one of two that were placed outside a particular shop a few doors down from the local Thrifty. (The cows are still there.) Anyone know where this is? :)

Those were the days....a scope of chocolate malted crunch was less than $.50 when I was in grade school.  Ahhh, the memories.

I remember when that Rite Aid was Damber Drugs and I got ice cream a few few doors down at McNulty's.  Loved the mint-chip.  Those were the days.  And there was a liquor store there - Rolf's I think - that had the best pastrami sandwiches.

You can still have all those wonderful childhood memories. Just come to the re- grand opening of Coastal Canyon Preserve. Free ice cream and take a stroll in the neighborhoods designed just like the ones from your childhood.
