I just got the worst freakin haircut today. I don't know how to describe it, but think Adolf Hitler. That's it. I need someone very good who knows how to cut asian hair for men. Money is no object. Any recs? And I'm not looking for creative permed japanese anime hair. Just a simple good looking cut that doesn't look like it's just been cut.

According to confidential sources, the resident IHB metrosexual (tenmagnet) only uses:

It took me 4 years, but I finally found a great hairdresser. The owner of the salon is a outstanding. I'm sure he would cut men's hair just as well as females. He would cut my hair and it wouldn't feel like it was just cut. Plus I could go a lot longer without getting it cut because it would grow out nicely as well. For some reason, I would feel like I needed to get my haircut again in only a few weeks with past hairdressers.

Here's his number:

Kudi-Ci Hair Salon

3601 East Coast Hwy

Corona Del Mar

949-675-5053

Only go to the owner - Brian.

But just remember - you said money is no object. He's pricey.

Couple suggestions coming from an asian male:

For a pricier cut:

Stephanie Ivy

Owner of John Paul Salon

Albertson's shopping center by UCI

949-854-8114

$38

For a cheaper yet precise haircut:

John Q

Milan Hair salon

(Viet guy in Westminster but he knows how to cut, just went there today)

714-839-2800 is his direct line

$15

As a fellow Asian male who experienced one too many nightmare haircuts, I highly recommend Du Japon. Just google map it. They have two locations - one in Japantown in DT LA and one in west LA.

They basically specialize in asian haircuts. It is pricey at $50, but you did say money is no object. It's a bit of a trek, but it's worth it for me.

Like the shamwow, which I absolutely adore btw, I'm so curious to try a Flow-Bee! Has anyone in IHB ever used a vacuum to cut their hair?

I am wonder exactly what an asian haircut is? How is it different from a white hair cut??

Thanks guys for the suggestions. Eventually, I'll try a lot of these until I find one I like.

Panda, I believe he meant asian hair, not a style of haircut cut per se. Asian hair is finer and straighter, so it can look choppy and uneven in the same haircut given for white men. Cut too short and it can look like a porcupine whereas the same for a white guy looks short soft and textured.

I'll go out on a limb and guess she's your optometrist too. ;)

Replace chopsticks with a pair of scissor. Look no farther the salon is already in most Asians kitchen.

Align the knotch on the bowl with the nose bridge.

If the bowl is too small then try a lamp shade

I wore both of the cuts for many years. My mother was too poor to send me to the salon when I was growing up. My only experience with a salon during those year was a haircut at a beauty college next to a Pussycat theatre on 5th and Hill in Downtown LA.
