Hi all,

I have some friends coming in to the area for a week in mid-June. She asked if I had any recommendations for a B + B or Inn.

Here are the particulars.... they have events planned in Costa Mesa and Huntington Beach. They love the Laguna area, but realize it's pricey down there. When I asked her for a price point, she gave $200.00 a night, as a ballpark.

Since I know nothing about the accomodations down your way, can anyone point me to a nice place. Even if it's more than $200 (but nothing crazy).

She mentioned anywhere between Seal Beach and Laguna Beach, preferably coastal. Thanks !

I've edited my original post (thanks Z for the suggestion, but they just need 1 bd). It will just be the two of them, not the whole family like I had originally thought. They would prefer a B+B or Inn, but nice hotel recommendations will be considered as well.

BTW, these are two of my nearest and dearest friends...they will be logging on to view this posting. So give a big OC welcome to my buds from York, Maine. ;)

The hub and I stayed at The Blue Lantern Inn in Dana Point once. Loved it and really quite reasonable for the location.

Have fun Trooper's friends!

Thanks House. What a cute place...but I just checked availability, and it shows sold out for 6/13 - 6/17. Something like that is perfect though....

Anyone got anything in Laguna ?

$ 200.00 a night is not going to get you much down here. Especially in the summer time peak season.

Hyatt Regency on Jamboree and the Marriot Newport around $ 250.00 weekends in the summer. Book it early. Look on Travelocity or other discount sites. The Hyatt is not bad and its in between Costa Mesa and Laguna.

Personally I would kick down and do the Surf and Sand if they love Laguna. Its 4 Star and its on the water. $ 400.00 Private Balcony and they just redid the place. http://www.surfandsandresort.com/ New Plasma`s and its right in the middle of Laguna. We try to do a weekend here every year and have always enjoyed this place even though we are locals. The rate may be better during the week as well.

bltserv, that place is beautiful ! Thanks for the ideas...I have no idea about pricing for rooms, so I'm sure that will help them figure out what to do.

Keep 'em coming !

Trooper,

My wife and I stayed at Casa Laguna on our mini moon in early September. We paid $360 a night for the deluxe ocean view room with patio. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast and view from our patio. I think there were 6 or more breakfasts to choose from, every breakfast was great and enough, service was exceptional, they serve drinks all day, and have wine tasting and hor'dourves every mid afternoon (I'm pretty sure). It's located about a mile from main Laguna Beach, and across the street from the beach. They also provide towels, beach chairs, and umbrellas for guests venturing over to the beach.

Their rates in mid June are between $250 and $590.

I can send you pics of our room if you want.

i've stayed at this place before. on the level of about a ramada or holiday inn. breakfast was some packaged pastries and coffee. but the rooms at this family-run place were clean, spacious, and charming.

hardly recommending this place as luxury accomodations but got an oceanside room for about $175 a few yrs back. first and only time i've heard fallen to sleep and woken up with the sound of waves crashing against the sand. for that alone it was worthwhile.

San Clemente has some options:

Always Inn

Casa Tropicana

Never stayed at either of them. Always Inn looks to be within your budget, Casa Tropicana is probably over budget, even for the cheap rooms.
