Readdressing the toxic land issue

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program

I was rereading some posts from the old IHB forum, and I read some comments about Tustin Fields having concerns about contaminated land. Also, a few years ago I partnered with a group of investors and bought a commercial building in the Santa Ana area just north of Jamboree and Tustin Fields. In the disclosure during the purchase they mentioned benzene in the water supply. I did some googling, and found eltoronow.com but it hasn't been updated in over a year.

My question, if there is indeed toxic chemicals spreading from the El Toro marine base, would not it seep outwards in all directions thus affecting Irvine as a whole? We're looking to purchase a house but this is starting to cause an itch that I need to scratch.

This visual might help. I sure wouldn't want to live in woodbridge even if officials say the plume is too deep to affect residents.
