If you have kids between the ages of about 2-11, Pump It Up offers weekly evening events for the family. There are two locations close to Irvine: one north of John Wayne in Irvine and one in Lake Forest on Dimenson Dr.. I've included links to the homepage for each so you can easily view their Events Calendar.

At least once a month, we've been attending the Family Jump Time on Tuesdays from 5:30-7:00 p.m. It's $8 per child. (Bring socks!) Kids up to 11 years old are welcome. At the Irvine location, the same event is held from 5:00-6:30 and is good for kids up to age 12. Weeknights are nothing like the madhouse of school holidays with a line out the door and around the corner. Often times you will share the night with just a handful of other families so it is a great chance to get the most out of the venue. Also, the age limit is higher than it is for Pop In Playtime which is more of a preschool theme during morning hours.

In addition to kids having fun, it is also a great opportunity to beat the snot out of your spouse have some loving, quality family time together.  :) Just don't tell Mr. SoCal I've posted this photo of us.

If you have any questions about it, let me know. It's a unique and fun thing to do with the kids after you get off of work. I use it as incentive to get homework done quickly before we go. They are on their best behavior all day when they know what is in store for later. It is also a good back-up plan during inclement weather.

That sounds great. I had never heard of this place. I will definitely try to check it out. Thanks.

Thank you for making me feel a little bit less ridiculous, Irvinehusky. I almost deleted the thing above. I hope you can try it some time.  :)

That photo is obviously a fake.

1. Why is he only wearing headgear?

2. No woman would put on those huge gloves... might ruin their nails. :)

Is the emphasis on the word "he" or on "only"?

He is not wearing other protective gear such as a cup or mouth guard because I promised to be courteous and not throw any knees.

For emphasis on "he" rather than me: You see, us Amazon women - or, "Glamazon" as we prefer to be called - need no protection as we are not easy targets. Mr.SoCal poses little threat as evidenced by the fact that I captured him as a husband to begin with. I don't know if he enjoys these "date nights" as much as I do, so let's just keep this our little secret, shall we?
