Postal service in new development neighborhood

Hi all,

Just want to get a sense of how post office is getting up to date on the new development addresses, since they are generally not searchable (yet) on Google map (and any other online services). If I'm expecting some important mails to come in after I move to a new development neighborhood (Stonegate), can I safely change my address and have old mails forwarded to my new home address?

Thanks for the feedback!

The post office is usually fine but if they're not searchable online you'll have a few FedEx and UPS packages being either returned or held.  I had this problem recently.

If your street is not on Google Maps yet (which seems to be the standard for UPS/FedEx to find you) then open Google Maps and give feedback.  I had to do this for my street and they responded within 2 days and added my street name to Google Maps.

Thanks for the feedback, postal office is my main concern at the moment for general mails, I would usually know Fedex and UPS shippings ahead of time to arrange delivery instruction.

As for Google Map, right now the street name is shown as planned when you zoom in (with dotted lines), does anyone know how long after the completion of the entire street before Google would typically update the map? Or do I have to send feedback to Google Map like aquabliss suggested?

It took Google about 6 months after I moved in to properly find my address even after my street was added. You should send feedback to Google like aquabliss suggested - that's how I finally got my address fixed.
