People craving Taiwanese street food..rejoice

I keep looking over than order sheet, but I can't find where I can pick the Powerball or Mega Number. Am I missing something?

Just had them last night, it's very salty and greasesy, but it was very good.  Their Taiwanese version of onion ring was suprissingly good, it's a little spicy with hint of pepper flavor.

I love onion rings. One of my favorite food groups. Is it like a red robin onion ring? Carl's jt? Jack in the box?  Normal batter?  And it's actually onion right?  Don't want to be eating onion ring shaped chicken butt.

And you said you don't like vegetables. :)

It's actual onion onion ring with usual batter but just with their own special seasoning.  You'll like it alone with rest of the menu maybe except the chicken butt.  It's just too bad they don't serve beer, these food really goes well with a nice cold beer.

Chinese restaurants either too cheap to get a alcohol license or don't want to deal with the headache.  Get a six pack from CVS while you wait for your food and brown bag it outside.  Light a candle for atmosphere to make it look less trashy.

I made the mistake of thinking that fried food is supposed to be fast food. Wife and I ate lunch here yesterday. It took them 35 minutes to make the popcorn chicken! They even ran out of rice! I'm not sure what the problem was.

I felt sorry for the Mexican construction workers ahead of me in line. They probably thought this place was KFC fast. Turns out their entire lunch break was spent waiting for food.

When the food did finally come, the popcorn chicken was good. Hot, crispy and spicy. They substituted noodles for rice which were good. I just can't justify the wait for this type of food. I don't plan on returning again.

I come here all the time. Always order more than we can eat. The food never takes that long but it's never that crowded either. The tea is pretty much sugar water.

So they never improved on the waiting time.  I went to this place multiple times when they first opened and each time I kept asking for more basil and every time I will just get one or two small leaves with a $50 worth of ordering.  Complaining to the owner and he kept saying it'll improve because they are trying to find a reliable provider for basil?  ::) But when I went back I am still getting the same amount.  Maybe to the other people it is no big deal but to me basil is an important ingredient complementing popcorn chicken(at least it is how it supposed to be in Taiwan).  After that I stopped going there.  Besides who has time to wait for 30+ minutes even if there are only few people in front of you.

I didn't care for this place so much, though they did have some things that some people I know would very much like.  I was hoping that with a name like Popcorn Chicken, that they would be awesome.

The best popcorn chicken in Irvine is at the Lollicup behind Shik Do Rak.  All levels of spice are good but I tend to prefer mild so that the spice doesn't overwhelm the flavor.

Urban Seoul 2.0 at the Irvine Spectrum also has really good popcorn chicken.
