Still looking for a place to replace my Trieu Chau fix, decided to try this place out.
Seafood Hu Tieu
Fried egg noodle
House special egg noodle dry
On a typical Little Saigon strip mall with decent parking and next to two Pakistani Halal (?) joints, you find this little gem. The egg noodles are decent here. Get the dry style (3rd pic) with the soup on the side. Kinda like tsukemen except you don't need to dip the noodles. Lots of fried scallions and fried pork skin (not Halal!) on top to round out the flavor. The waiters are actually friendly and speaks English unlike the prudish folks at Trieu Chau. Probably won't do house special next time, the liver bits were a bit much even for me. That's one pig internal organ I don't like. My kid loved the hu tieu, need to get her own bowl next time. Also hear the duck soup is decent here, but I'm not a fan of seeing or touching soggy poultry skin in my soups so I passed.
