Getting my Patio Cover / Trellis replaced with new 2x4 pieces of wood. Should it be replaced with standard douglas fir wood or a pressure treated lumber? How can I tell what is currently being used?
 
Looks like standard wood is just douglas fir wood. PT is not necessary. Other options are more costly and not necessary. My original patio cover lasted 15 years.
 
Just asking because we've had both metal and vinyl and they were great. Metal is just noisy and not as easy to attach things to.
