Parkview Center: The Irvine center will get new tenants, landscape and design as the center is reinvented by the Irvine Company.
The company opened in 1975 and currently has 19 stores. This is the center?s first remodel.
Phase I will begin this fall. Irvine Veterinary Services will relocate to the former IHOP location. A quick service food operator and drive-through will replace Irvine Veterinary Services. The operator has not yet been announced. Both Irvine Veterinary Services and the food option will have a ?coastal farmhouse feel.?
Phase 2 will begin in November and open in Summer 2018. A convenience store and gas station will be built.
?As one of our authentic neighborhood retail centers, we are reimagining Parkview so it can be enjoyed as a community hub for many generations,? Dave Moore, president of Irvine Company Retail Properties, said in a statement. ?The design embodies the heritage of farming that still exists here today.?
The center will announce a handful of new tenants as well.
The amount of money being spent on the renovation has not been disclosed.
Supermarket ZionMart will remain at the center. It opened in January. Other stores at the center include Oh My Nails and Korea House.
Parkview Center is located at 5301 ? 5401 University Dr., near the 405 Freeway and the Strawberry Farms Golf Club.
Parkview Center is not the only Irvine Co. property to be remodeled in recent years. In February 2016 the company announced that it would spend $30 million to revitalize the Woodbridge Village Center.
The center hadn?t been updated since it was built in 1979. It will be completed this fall.
The company is also making some changes at the Irvine Spectrum Center. Last year the mall?s Macy?s shuttered. Instead of looking for a new anchor, the center will build a collection of smaller shops.
