Cheap shot, Troop. I've yet to see the swimsuit portion of any beauty pageant not require high heels, and certainly this was the norm during the last 60 years.

I'm not defending Palin, but I thought you were better than this.

Ummm, what's wrong with seeing an attractive woman in a bathing suit?

OK, next time I see a male candidate modeling his Speedo, we're even.

But until then, I'd prefer to know my possible future *hack* President wasn't involved in something that objectifies women like this does.

I dare you, no... I triple dog dare you to picture McCain in a Speedo. Heh, if there was footage of that, then he would lose half his voters.

She is very beautiful in that clip.

I'm skeptical of her understanding of international affairs. When I read her bio on Wiki, seems like she went to many colleges, got a degree in communications-journalism, probably got married soon after, then entered the local political scene. No indication of traveling abroad and/or studying foreign affairs which I think are critical for a world leader.

If I were in her position with that (lack of) experience, I would have been petrified of being asked to be the running mate of a presidential nominee - after all, a PTA-mom has her limitations. Declining the nominee invitation would have been very admirable and understandable in this case.

I believe there is an old Latin proverb about how sometimes it is better to refrain from assuming a greater position of power. However, such a proverb seems to have been lost these days with the pervasive "more, more, gimme more" mentality.

[quote author="24inIrvine" date=1224894819]do you feel the same way about Arnold and his Mr. Olympian stuff?</blockquote>

I do. Those Speedos are TMI unless you are Maria.

I was trying to find a picture of him now. Those pictures are from before he got in shape for Terminator 3 (and after he had that heart surgery). So I wonder how he looked after doing that movie.

You know I'm not one to defend Palin if I can help it, but I did a local pageant once for the scholarship money. Pranced around in high heels and big hair and caked-on makeup. Took first runner-up and walked away with $500 for college.

However, the experience sucked ass.

It's all good, at least we all know that you're qualified to be VP of America. Cayci 2012!

"PTA-mom has her limitations"-very well said, totally agree.

I think some of the attacks in the media were completely uncalled for, and all these Palin-inflatable dolls and other similar merchandise I keep hearing about on the Bill Handle show is quite unusual in my view, I don't recall we had something like this before.

She also comes across as someone kind and probably even a charming person. Unsophisticated, yes, not a quick thinker on her feet, yes, but not as evil as portrayed by some media. She is just not qualified for this position, period.

Yet, I'm thankful that she is running for for the VP position, b/c I just can't stop watching the SNL piece on her interview with Couric, and it is priceless, what else can I say.

No Matter Who Wins, Palin Will Be a Force in GOP

If Mccain loses next Tuesday and i believe he is going to Palin will be the front runner in 2012. I really like her and I think it is lousy how rude and horrible the left wing nutty media has treated her. Also they ask her questions they would never ask Biden. And Biden makes stupid comments and nobody challenges them. But if she were to make the same comments they would infer that she is a dumb broad. So unfair the double standard.
