A man and woman have been arrested on suspicion of stealing thousands of dollars worth of high-end alcohol from stores in Irvine and Mission Viejo, police said Wednesday.

About 9:40 a.m. Sunday, Quinette Hall and Richard White entered an Albertsons on Quail Hill Parkway and stole alcohol, according to a statement by the Irvine Police Department.

The store reported the theft to police and gave a description of the suspects and their car. Hall is 41 years old from Compton and White, 49, is from Inglewood.

Shortly after, a similar burglary happened at another Albertsons, on Alton Parkway. After the second theft, Hall and White stayed in the area and returned to the same store to attempt to rob it again.

They were spotted by store staff and fled. An Irvine police officer in the area found them in the parking lot and arrested them. They had more than $1,400 in alcohol in their car, some of it with security devices still attached.

During their investigation, Irvine police detectives found that the pair were responsible for four high-end alcohol thefts in Irvine and one in Mission Viejo amounting to an approximate $13,000 loss.

Jail records show that Hall is a hairstylist and is being held without bail at Central Womens Jail. She is set to appear in court Dec. 21. White, a plumber, was released on Tuesday.
