Been eating here awhile, never thought they would survive the Great Recession yet they are still here.
Decent "pot cleaning" complementary soup with lunch combo, kid loves the tofu
Kung pao chicken, great flavor, has a fire roasty taste, different then other places around Irvine, kung pao squid is good as well
Fish filet with bok choy, this simple cantonese dish is one of my favorite, great with just steam rice, simple and delicious
Salt and pepper shrimp (Aberdeen style?) nice crunch, eat the whole shrimp head to tail, all crispy
Hu Tieu with fish/shrimp paste ball, my fav here, not quite as good as Trieu Chau, but will do for Irvine. Only served during lunch.
Service is pretty good, but that's only because the wait staff recognize my family since we come here quite often. Bit tricky when ordering the Hu Tieu. I always order by number and then wait for the waiter to ask me if I want skinny or wide noodles. Do not use your own description for the noodles, they will get confused. Usually skinny or fat works out well, but again let the waiter ask first then respond.
