I read an article over the weekend in the OCRegister that said Orange County is the fastest selling market in the US, but I can't link to their article because of the paywall so I found the source they cited at ZipRealty.com:
http://www.ziprealty.com/blog/where...-ziprealty’s-housing-trends-report-takes-look
4 of the top 5 were in California, San Diego, LA, Sacramento, OC, and the 5th was Las Vegas... no mention of Johns Creek.
While looking for that ZipRealty article, I found this other one about the 10 best places to live for families:
http://www.ziprealty.com/blog/10-best-places-families-live
They do their rankings based on "both the availability of highly ranked schools (based on the ZipRealty School Score) and affordability of local real estate (based on the median price per square foot within the school district)" so Orange County just made the cut at 10th because of the Irvine School District (not sure how Irvine is considered affordable). Again... ATL did not make the list.
