So there will be a new middle school Jeffery Trails open this fall for residents in north of I-5 and east of Jeffery. I heard there will be a new Elementary coming soon too? Is there any sign for new high school for Portola Spring area? Any word on new developments in the nearby area?

I believe the new high school that is supposed to server that Northern Irvine area will be opening in the Great Park area... I think it's called Heritage High School.

Thanks! I wonder if the new schools are going to be good... They usually are, right? Like Northwood High. I mean the new houses around are at a higher than ever price. Also, does it mean there will be more development in surrounding area? There's not much right now.

What do you mean by "good"?  Do you mean high API?  A high API isn't a given because all the apts and subsidized housing being built.  If you mean that the school will be new and have all the tech toys and resources, then yeah, they'll probably have that.  It also depends heavily on the PTA.  I wouldn't worry too much about it, there's no bad schools in Irvine, just schools with different APIs.

Thanks, OCgasman! So do we know Great Parks/Heritage Fields area will have subsidized housing? Where else does Irvine has such communities? Is it listed on any website?

Here is a brochure listing all of the apartment communities which contain affordable housing in Irvine at the time the brochure was produced:http://www.cityofirvine.org/civica/filebank/blobdload.asp?BlobID=12855

You can also play around on this website for more info:http://www.cityofirvine.org/cityhall/cd/housing/housing/affordablehse/default.asp

... and they just put "the project", as they call it, Doria smackdab in Stonegate.

Check

Irvine Community Land Trust:http://www.irvineclt.org/.Goal is to provide permanent low-income housing throughout Irvine.
and
Jamboree Housing:http://www.jamboreehousing.com/

As you can see, Newbbie, Irvine intends to make 10% of all housing stock low-income. There are currently about 4,000 low-income housing units city-wide.
