New release movies at home?

For $50 per movie and $150 for special hardware, I might be interested in this.

As it is, even with the Costco discount, tickets and concessions cost about $50 and this way we can stay in the comfort of our own hope, watching when we want to watch and not have to worry about parking, lines, and obnoxious audience members.

Ahh, they already have this for the wealthy.  The last I heard these are $30,000 for the player and $500 for movie rental and $600 for rental in 3D.  The player will download the digital movie, and once it's completely downloaded it would be available to watch. 

I'm sure the movie industry gets a cut of the $30,000.  A drop from $30,000 to $150 is pretty extreme.  Also going from $500 to $50 is a pretty hefty decrease.

But it scales as more people will use it.

Not sure if this will ever happen, Disney isn't interested (what movies do they have that are good anways ).

You can open up your own mini theater business... $5 entry, $1 hot dogs/sodas/popcorn!!

KODI and you can stream FREE. Almost the same time as it hit the theater. That depends on the uploaded quality.

Would never go to the theater again. Hopefully it will be 4K quality and Atmos audio.
