Bassenian Lagoni architects the creator of Brightwater at Hungtinton Beach by Hearthside Homes is the chosen architect to design many products in future communities. Congratulation to BLA and good luck to all future new home buyers.

Refer to Brightwater thread for the outstanding talent of this architect.

To bench mark $375 TIC turned to the architect who is infamous for the pink stucco box reputation he created in Irvine. His trademark was the 3 car garage and the diagonal circulation at the entry foyer. IHO's Messiah has answered his prayer for his Jiffy Lube fantasy.

Pink stucco... no.

Entry foyer and 3-car garage... yes.

There is a Santa Clause.

I went to their site. Yick! The houses have too many layers and roof elevations. Way to busy for my taste. I hope they are not the ones that will incorporate some mid century modern designs into the villages. Clean lines are not their forte.

I agree with you totally. Clean line is very difficult to achieve. When Picasso did his single continuous line sketch he did thousands of sketches first and eliminated a single line at a time finally leaving only the essential line representing the heart and soul of the subject.

The reason why everyone outside of Irvine makes fun of Irvine is BLA's early architectural pollution of Irvine by gooping up facades and repetition of all 3 car frontal garages.

I was not impressed with Brightwater either.

This is one architectural firm I have the least respect for. I would not buy his product even when it reaches rental parity and let alone $375/sf bench mark pricing.

There will always be some buyers looking for Jiffylube function and place no value on enduring timeless aesthetic purchasing these homes. 40 years from now the same group would abandon the outdated styles of these homes like the way they abandoned Garden Grove, Anaheim, Stanton, and Buena Park and go looking for the next great suburb.

very quick side-bar...

I was in the Wells Fargo in Corona this morning, and noticed all the Spanish "Some Day" marketing posters, with hispanic models... I thought interesting...

Later in the day, I went in the Wells Fargo in Woodbury, and noticed most of the posters are in Chinese! Even more interesting! humm, I wonder if BK had anything to do with it? hummm...

Isn't it more likely that TIC doesn't really believe that $375 is going to be obtainable in the near/medium term and is choosing an architect that will design a low cost, mediocre product? The only people that will be buying these homes are people who will only buy a new home. Why waste "innovations" like the California room on them? They can save the "innovations" for 2016 when they start getting serious about Orchard Hills and Laguna Crossing.

Bassenian's website comes in two flavors, English and Chinese (there is a button on the upper right hand corner of the home page that turns the site into Chinese). BK, is this a harbinger of the future?

A Chinese national hustler name Wang without any architectural and construction experience was made vice president. He makes connection to the corrupt Chinese government and hook Ticky Yacky architect up with the officials to design communities with MushuMansions. The Chinese version was his idea to suck up to the communists. I think he drives a White Lexus.

Isn't it all garage and no home?

Yeah... well since it's become my trademark... I might as well make it my avatar.

And yes... it did take me some time to find a picture of just a 3-car garage... no house. Maybe it's behind the main house like bk likes.

That is wierd. My screen still shows your old avatar: A house with a chimney. I click on a new page and still shows your old avatar. My computer must like your old avatar.

Just curious.. when you were a little boy, did your wishful drawings of a house look just like your avatar?

Yeah... I think IHB caches stuff like that. Graph told me his avatar changed from his bear one and I had to erase my cookies to see his new one.

Also... does anyone get the notification emails? I used to get them but I don't anymore since May 1st.
