new homes in oc - irvine vs yorba linda (vista del verde)

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
i am looking for input/feedback in what communities of new homes you guys like. i tend to lean toward new homes as my wife and i work like 80hrs a week and dont really have time to "rebuild" an old one. i understand good schools but seem to have a hard time digesting the mello roos charge in invine. i am looking for a larger home 3000 or above and dont seem to like the areas in which you have a 2mil home next to a 400k townhouse (06 prices :) what are your thoughts on irvine vs yorba linda (vista del verde). my wife and i looked at the homes in sierra and the masters and legends in YB. looking forward to feedback.

Commuting time is a big deciding factor for me. From Irvine to work approximately 20 min. going 65 mph. 15 min. if I speed up alittle. It would take me over an hour to work if I live in YB. Also, it takes me a few minutes to enter the freeway from my Irvine neighborhood.

I was in Yorba Linda a couple of months ago looking at a new community. It was very nice. But it took awhile to get to the freeway and this was on a weekend. I can't imagine what it would be like during the weekdays' morning/evening hours.

I get to have dinner at 6 o'clock while others are still stuck in traffic heading to their big home.

yes, i know what you mean. my wife owns a business and works in commerce so i was thinking YB would be closer for her than driving from irvine to commerce. decisons, decisions, decisons.

There is a metrolink train that goes from Irvine to Commerce.

thanks for the metro info. i have seen the metro in commerce but dont remember seeing the metro in irvine. it is was me, i would use the metro, but i have a feeling my wife would not be into it as she has a lot of out of the office appts (in LA)
