New homes around mid 400k?

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
I know, I'll probably be laughed at for asking a question like this, but I was wondering if there were any new housing communities in this area that fit within my budget. I was looking into the RiverBend community in Orange, and well, I decided to forget it after reading about crime problems there in the Orange County category of this forum. I'm looking for something with at least 3 bedrooms.

Thanks!

You're pretty much looking at a condo, then. You may wish to check TIC's site and see what is being offered in each village in your price range. The same is true for Villages of Columbus. If you want an SFR for that price, you would be going into neighborhoods you may not like.

I'm going to sound stupid for asking this, but what is TIC? Sorry, I just stumbled across these forums today, and it seemed like a good place to find some help!

<p>Also, it is recommended that you read this <a href="http://forums.irvinehousingblog.com/discussion/1702/new-members-start-here/#Item_10">thread</a>. It has a lot of great articles.</p>

<p>Welcome!</p>

Check out the builder websites (ex. google the builders like Standard Pacific, Lennar, KB homes, etc. etc) and then click on their "quick move in specials" stuff to get an idea of pricing in their different developments.
