Since a lot of us took the plunge in homebuying recently, here is a thread where I want to start for home improvement deals.  I will be posting stuff I find (ala slickdeals) and also stuff I stumble upon.  Please contribute any deals you find as well.

For the first deal...
http://slickdeals.net/permadeal/82138/sears.com-craftsman-30-poly-leaf-rake

Leaf rake for $9, craftsman too.  Plenty available for pickup at local sears.  Just in time for the recent windstorm.  Sign up for shopyourwayrewards, they randomly give you free points.  I got an email the other day saying they're giving me 3000 points ($3) to spend on anything.  I got the leaf rake for $6 because of it.

I've been going on cardpool.com and plasticjungle.com for Home Depot and Lowe's gift cards.  They're usually 7% off, so covers most of the sales tax.  You can "stack" these gift cards with the 10% off mover's coupon to net about 17% off.  Also picked up some Pottery Barn cards @ 10% off, these are readily available and can also be used at PB Kids and Williams Sonoma.

Ceiling fans at Home Depot, free ship, thinking about this one for $100

some good black friday deals coming up.  I'm interested in a grill, gas. no more than 3 burners, any recommendations?

18v Dewalt drills are on sale for $99.

Here's a Bosch Li-ion drill with 2 batteries and charger for 99.00.

Stack with mover's coupon and gift card from cardpool/plasticjungle and get it for under 100.00 out the door.  I would pick this up if I wasn't already invested in another brand's cordless system.

close out price, as the new model is out.

That said, it is a weird drill.  half inch, but not a hammer drill, no side handle, comes with small battery packs, no LED light.

but the biggest drawback is even as a "does everything" drill, it iss a fixed speed, not variable.  Typically, for smaller projects that this drill might be appropriate for, i want to use a low RPM to seat the screw (usiing it a driver), not go full out, which one might do in construction, for instance.

I think it was an error.. the order doesn't go through anymore. I shared it with a friend, and she couldn't order. Checked back, it doesn't add anything to cart. But when I ordered, it went through, I even got a confirmation email.. Hopefully it worked :)

Anyone got a cancelation call yet? SD updates say lot of people got cancelation calls..
Tch Tch..can't get a deal I can brag about now!

Got a cancelation email. Not even a gift card! Not even a coupon!

Boo...too good to be true, my cash back thru ebates.com is still at $3 (for 5 rugs)...hmmm maybe next time I'll order 500 rugs (knowing they will cancel) and pocket the $300 cash back.

I've been using Sears ShopYourWay MAX program for a few months now and thought it's a cheap way to get some cheap/free tools for the house.

It's Sears version of Amazon Prime AYCE free shipping...  costs $79 but free to try for 90 days.  Many people at slickdeals reports that they will automatically grant you a trial extension if you choose not to continue.  So far I've gotten my trial extended by 6 months.  They just email me that they're extending it, nothing I have to do on my part.  Good thing about the program is that they randomly assign you free money to use in purchases.  Usually a couple dollars... but able to pick up tool bags, garden tools, etc. for a good price.  Factor in the time saving free shipping and it's a no brainer.  Just got a Craftsman 13" tool bag for $0.37 shipped after applying the free $4 credit they just put into my account.  Craftsman bottle opener is always a good buy/gift.. essential for any new home owner.
