Would you ever buy a new home based on floorplan alone?
I visited the new Toll Brothers homes at Amalfi Hills in Yorba Linda this past weekend. No models yet, but it seems like they've sold at least a dozen or two homes (not sure exactly how many, but more than a handful). Since it seems Toll Brothers recycles or only slightly modifies floorplans, for all I know these buyers could've seen something similar already in a Toll Brothers model elsewhere. But, still.
There have been homes that I've loved based on floorplan alone, and have been quite disappointed with when seeing them in person. On the flip side, I've been wowed by model homes that seem unspectacular based on floorplan alone. Most of the time what I see is what I expect, but I've been surprised both good and bad.
I don't think I could ever buy a new home based only on the floorplan.
What are others' opinions on this?
