I received the following e-mail from the owners:

It is with great sadness that I must inform you that Mike and I will no longer be the owners of Nana Jean's.  Effective this coming Tuesday, the 10th of January, Nana Jean's will have new owners.  We wish them great success.

We were not prepared for life's unexpected events, such as Mike's illness and our troubled economy, hence we are unable to continue on our journey which has brought so many new and wonderful friends into our lives and good times that we have shared together.  I know that with time and much needed resources, we could have become hugely successful, which makes the notion of not being able to live out our dream an even more painful one.  We hope that the new owners will be able to continue our dream.

We want to thank all of Tustin for embracing us and welcoming us into the community and I want to thank each and every one of you who have supported us over these past nine months.  I hope that some of you might join us over this weekend so that we may spend one last time with you.  I will miss you all very much!

If you wish to stay in touch, you may contact me at (email address removed).  I pray that 2012 will be more prosperous for everyone.  May all of you be healthy and happy in the New Year.

With warmest regards,

Jeanne and Mike

that sucks! this place was so good.  i know all of the dishes were recipes of the owners of stuff they actually cooked for themselves.  are the new owners keeping the same menu?

Word is that the new owner will keep the menu, but we'll see.  I went there for brunch last weekend and to say goodbye to the owners.  It was sad seeing them pack up around the restaurant, but the owner's health situation did not allow him to continue running the restaurant.

Went here tonight with my wife for dinner..  They don't offer two lamb shank portions anymore... They took away and added a few items onto the menu.

We ordered the lamb shank dinner and the spare rib grilled cheese sandwich with a side of Mac and cheese with bacon bits.. We highly recommend the the sandwich but the lamb shank was meh..

Must be nice to be homer. Nana Jeans on Thursday, Mastro's on Friday, donuts whenever.

Yeah no kids yet :) trying to travel and dine out  as much as possible before kids.

Btw, they raised the prices a buck on a few items like the lamb shank and specialities.  I was there for about a hour between 6 and 7 and he place was empty..
