I received this e-mail from the owner today:

To all of our valued customers,

After two weeks of remodeling, we are finally back to serve you better than before this Friday.

We have changed our concept to Pacific Rim Cuisine. We will be opening everyday from 11 AM for lunch, and continue to be open 'til 10PM. Our latest staff addition, Japanese master chef "Jake", is really excited to make you some delicious home cooked meals! We also now have a much bigger selection of wine, and a variety of Sake. Join us this Friday night for a candle light dinner and live acoustic music.

I know I am excited to see you all again. As always, please feel free to call and make reservations to ensure seats!

The chef is indeed Japanese, or at least looks very Japanese.

I had the lunch special pork and thought it tasted good.  Had a chat with the owner's wife and told her that for the restaurateur to do well, they need something unique for the menu.  I was actually a little saddened that they don't serve kebabs anymore.  Their chicken kebab was excellent.

I'll check this place out.  I'm looking for real izakaya style places like i went to in Tokyo.  Not much demand for that kind of dining here i guess, but its a staple of japanese cuisine.

Honda-Ya is across the street from Morey's.

I got this in e-mail today:

"Dear valued customers,

Morey's Place has decided to go all Mediterranean! We would like to continue to satisfy your appetites at a reasonable price, so we're listening to what you have to say. Many of you have suggested our complete Mediterranean change, and we would like to better serve you with our updated Mediterranean menu. With our renovated kitchen, our Mediterranean food will be cooked uniquely to target Mediterranean quality! Join us this Friday and Saturday night to check out our updated menu along with some live music!

With breakfast also being highly suggested to stay, we will be having breakfast served daily from 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM.

See you soon,
Morey"

is jake-san going to change his name to Giotto?

Donno, but they're going to have Belly Dancing performance this Sat (Nov 9th) @ 8PM.  I hope it's not Jack-San doing the belly dancing.  ;)
