Welcome to mobile nations we are the United Nations of the mobile world.

My name is RC and I will be your ambassador for all things Android, however I hope to create a forum where robots of every operating system can work out our differences and find common ground.

This is the place for you to share how (mobile) technology is intersecting your lives, for better or for worst.

Most of my content will be pulled and aggrigated from popular gadget websites, however if there is an article that I've missed or overlooked please feel free to bring it up.

In addition to Android news, I do intend on sharing how my Android is improving my life personally; most topics will be generally covered, however please feel free to respond with any questions if you require any additional detail such as -how to's.

I did get a chance to go by Verizon on Monday... saw the Xyboard 10" but the thing couldn't be powered on... not a good first impression, the guy there was as baffled as I was; must have been the first day of the display but how can you install the device without making sure it works!

But hardware wise, the things is nice, light, thin and solid.. Android Tab makers like I said are getting their act together and will make active assaults on iPad market-share in 2012.

Not sure what Motorola is thinking with the Xyboard (aka Xoom 2)... thin and light is nice but it's still expensive and isn't even quad-core like the Transformer Prime, they are two steps behind.

ah-oh.. here we go again... first look at ICS skinned with Touch-Wiz on the SGII...

Not too bad... but seeing ICS unskinned for so long now just seems sooo wrong... the choice is pretty clear, I will eat straight ICS... let's see how ADW Launcher will look on ICS, but I imagine ICS will eliminate all need for a third party launcher all together...

I do have a busy day tomorrow; so I'm making plans now... calling the local VZ Store again, Costco & BB... downloading stuff off the old LG so it should be a easier to transfer...

Most people can't hold anything so, first come first serve; and they can't even tell you how many they have in stock... so, how stupid, right?

I am going to wait a bit on my Galaxy Nexus purchase. Want to see that $299 price drop a bit and see what people think of it on the VZW network. $154 is more my speed, knowing full well that in February it's likely going to hit $99. Soylent Red still is wanting to upgrade her IJebus 3 to a 4s, but with the 5 just around the corner it might be a wait and see as well.

RC:  Glad to see you finally got your hands on the Nexus.  I am waiting for ICS to come out for my S2.  Although, I am pretty happy with gingerbread so far.

i'm charging da nexi while getting all the apps installed.. and the thing is still sucking the battery... gonna let the thing eat a little before I peak the CPU again...

the experience was fairly pain-free... there were about 15 ALL Asian guys, one returning his BB for the GN, about 5 guys were DENIED cause their daddy still payed their bills (they looked about 30 years old!) and the owner of the account had to be present... HAHAHAHA... have daddy buy you a house instead...!

ok.. so I got hooked up and everybody walking out the door had a HUGE smile...!  oh, what a wonderful day... 4G up here is spotty, but otherwise... fast,

ICS has a slight learning curve, but I tell ya... CM7 & ADW Launcher... is better... sorry.. a lot more intuitive & customizable... might have to install a launcher afterall...

I'm porting my music over as soon as I finish typing & eating my pizza... looks like NO WORK today, afterall... my customers gonna wait...

I'm sooo swamped today... gotta play catch-up, but the phone is oh so handy...  I'm loving every bit of it...

ICS is taking a lot to get used to... I'm a bit disoriented as my digital life is a huge mess; think about moving houses and having all you stuff in boxes... it's going to take this entire weekend for me to feel a bit at home...


I am also officially in the dog house with the wife, you guys should have seen the look on her eyes then I said I blew $299; oh, taxes,, oh, & this case & car charger...  no, I didn't tell her how much before I bought it...  RC needs to play make-up this weekend... hopefully she won't make me return it...

Sorry to hear.  I had to save up my gadget goodwill for 3 years to get my S2 and only because my wife got the Iphone 4S around the same time.

I've been charging since I got the phone as much as I can, and as of now it's still only 65%; that is how much 4G drains... last night, the older USB cable didn't work for some reason,, maybe not strong enough... so I better use the one I got with the phone... take a look at my battery... hopefully I didn't screw anything up...

You should turn off the 4G antenna to save battery life.

Only use it when you need to... you didn't use it on your old phone.

I do feel a bit better this morning; after the wife's massage & Saturday off, she didn't mention about returning the G-Nex, so hopefully I'm off the hook... (fingers cross)

I was able to get the home screen customized fairly to my liking and I'm starting to get a feel of the new places... really taking advantage of the folders, besides, the HUGE memory, and doing EVERYTHING at the SAME TIME, without any LAG, unlike how I used to have to manage memory and processor power, the G-Nex is everything I wanted and more...

Now the biggest complaint on the boards over the weekend is the battery, I get about 10% drain for every hour on regular conservative use; without having to scrimp on switching stuff off like GPS & 4G, so for an average work day, I do need to juice up somewhere in between.

Other than that, there are a few little things I do miss dearly, icon customizations, music player inside the notification bar, inter-changeable dock bar, customizable power-control widget, 3D-picture piles on the old gallery...
