Mirrored Wardrobe Doors

I am looking into replacing the bypass closet doors in a few of our bedroom closets with mirrored bypass doors. As with anything, there are several options. I'd like to see what you guys think based only on looks. One is a full panel mirror with beveled edges. The frame doesn't really matter. I chose white for the pic but it can be chrome or even frame-less, I think. The other is a mirror impression with beveled edges.

Which do you like better?

I'm not sure how I feel about mirrored wardrobe doors in general. They seem a bit outdated to me. I had a style like the top one but in brass in my bedroom in the 1980's. But I want to bring extra light into the rooms, especially one of them that has a tiny window which hardly gets any light. Plus, it helps to see when getting dressed. Although the one at the bottom isn't a full-length mirror, I'm leaning towards that one.

Thanks!

Mirror #1 (blends better with the wall).  Although personally I would prefer no mirror (kind of eerie to have full length mirror facing the bed .. feels like somebody is looking at you all the time)

The bottom one looks nicer to me. The first one looks like the doors I used to look at rental apartment homes.

Just out of curiosity, where are you going to get those bypass doors from?  I may be interested, too. :)

:) That sounds just like my fish. When I put a mirror next to his tank, he flared his gills out to make himself appear "big and scary" & got all aggressive with the "other fish" in the mirror. It was just his reflection.

Yeah I like no mirrors.. which is the trend now.  Rather just put up a wall mirror or built in door mirror.

#1 gives you the best reflection for outfits, especially for shoes... but is the oldest style.

#2 is probably more "updated" as it looks like a french door.

#3 is what you see in the new builds today.

I prefer #1 and #2, with the edge to #2 for style.

I'm used to how I look so I'm not scared of having mirrored wardrobe doors. And I don't believe it steals my soul either. But as a kid... it can make it hard to sleep if you are thinking "Bloody Mary".

rookie :-)

Mirrored sliding closet doors are definitely a thing of the past. It looks dated, but if you had to pick one, I'd get the frameless version of #1. If that's not to your liking, I think #2 looks better than #1, however, that style is more for a single closet door.

Do you have a contractor already? My dad does quality work and is on Jeff Lewis's show on the Bravo network, yet his prices are still very competitive. Let me know if you're interested.

Totally agree with IHO and I would prefer #2 if I'm going with mirrored wardrobe doors.

FYI, #3 is standard in IP's new homes and those mirrored doors in #1 is a $400+ option.
