Marble

Marble Steakhouse KBBQ was pretty damn good. I guess they were orignally a fancy steakhouse, but that didn't go well? (Does anyone know the story here?) I don't know much about Korean BBQ, but I took my five year old son there and he and I absolutely loved it. I don't think I've ever seen him eat so much, he had a lot of thin brisket.

We also tried some (icey) cold noodles in some tangy vinegar broth, it was some of the strangest, most interesting food I've had, but enjoyable!

The service was impeccable, it was a younger guy who was very happy to explain everything and while he cooked most of the food for us, he was happy to let my son put a few slices on the grill (at his request).

I do like All That BBQ as well, and maybe it's a good option for a bunch of hungry guys, but for date night or something more mellow, I think Marble is a great choice.

We went to marble a couple of times when it was a steakhouse/KBBQ place. It was good. You could order the steakhouse menu on the kbbq side which was good because I have one picky eater so we could order pasta from the menu. Obviously you couldn’t order kbbq on the other side.

We went to kalbi social club at the spectrum and the two day marinaded meat there was very good. I thought it was better than Baekjong on Culver/5.

With that said I love the spicy brisket at I can bbq at the market place in Tustin.

Do you think the meat quality is better at Kalbi Social Club or Marble?

I’ve been meaning to go to Kalbi Social Club for the Mak-Skey Old Fashioned also.

Marble’s steakhouse/Italian half section of the restaurant always seemed empty the 3 times I’ve gone there in the past. Perhaps it was too much of trying to be good at everything when the demand wasn’t there for that niche.

I thought kalbi social club is better. My wife thought the same thing as well. She thought some dishes were better at Baekjong and others at Kalbi Social club.

Will have to give Marble a try some time.

I went to Kalbi Social Club for Lunch. $25 galbi jjim set. I thought it was OK but nothing really special. Couldn't justify ordering the more expensive BBQ sets for lunch, but will have to go back for dinner.

For KBBQ I liked Saemaeul in Buena Park. It's Baek Jong-won's restaurant, he's on Netflix cheeky "Culinary Class Wars" show. Skip the pork and order beef here. Note that this is not AYCE.

We went to Oki-Doki in Tustin for NY Day soba - excellent authentic soba and udon, Japanese owned. Crowded and highly recommended.

Has anyone been to Japanese BBQ, Sushi & Yakitori Bar on Barranca?
I checked their page on Yelp a little over a week ago and their reviews were horrible. Like a 2.8 average after 30ish reviews with as many 1 star reviews as 5 stars reviews. Now suddenly they have a 4.2 average with a ton of positive 1-2 line reviews. One of the reviews gave away their secret and mentioned that they’re offering a free beer or gelato to anyone who leaves a review.

We gave a review at Craft in Anaheim for a free appetizer. Craft is good overall though. A decent amount of restaurants do this. Craft is the only one I wrote a review for though.
