OC forum is having a luncheon with Scott Simon of PIMCO on "The Subprime Meltdown" "What does it mean for OC?" on Wednesday the 23rd. Scott is the managing director of portfolio management of mortgage and ABS for PIMCO. OC Register blogger Matthew Padilla will be there to do the introduction. It costs $55 and it is going to be held at the Irvine Hilton on MacArthur.

I will be there and I will be doing a post on it as soon as I can. I will be the one in the back with the black suit, dark sunglasses and freshly made tinfoil hat.

I did go. I think the most interesting thing was the diversity of the crowd. You had people who are executives in the mortgage secondary market for some of the larger banks to a senior who is just concerned by all the signs of foreclosures she had seen and read about.

I did get a few new stats and opinions from Scott Simon and I will probably doing a post on it this weekend that will go up next week.

I met Matthew Padilla and he is a very nice guy. He also has a very genuine interest in the mortgage market. Lansner was there too but he was always talking to someone and he always seems grumpy.
