Los Olivos Marketplace: Whole Food coming to Irvine~

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
I'm gonna look at this as glass half full.  I'm just happy they're building one.  It's easy access from both the 405 and 5, so a straight shot down from most of Irvine.  We're lucky to have 2 WF in Tustin and now Irvine as well as the one in NB.

Yea def glass half full view here too. To me, this is much much much more convenient than the district location. Plus I'm hoping the parking lot and exits will be better planned.
Nothing can be worse than The District's. :)

If you're gonna waste your money on organic and gluten-free food, might as well do it in Irvine!

Kidding aside, they have an excellent meat selection.

Agreed, meat quality is a step above, but man, is it pricey.

Also, awesome craft beer selection.  Yea, another place to get Pliny!

Went to lunch here yesterday for the grand opening.  The store itself is awesome, so many great looking foods I want to go back and try.  Out of all the things to try though, I picked the gourmet sandwich station which looked great but I was quite underwhelmed by my Roast Beef Chimmichuri sandwich.

I still want to try the salad bar, pizza, acai bowls, sushi, etc.

A coworker of mine went yesterday too, she said there was a bunch of samples.  Also said the ramen wasn't that good, but she said it "looked" great too.  Taste and price she'd go to Santouka in Mitsuwa over Whole Foods.

Went to Los Olivos yesterday and saw this breadcrumbs trail of dog crap right on the brand new walkway.  It felt as if I just bought an $80k car and walked out to see a bird do his business right on the hood.

And yes, the FCB's in the back are chuckling.  Maybe it was their dog.

They need to build one closer to stonegate/EW/Woodbury/OH.
I've been saying this for the past months. Whole Foods needs to come to the Orchard Hills shopping center, where Pavilions and Haggen used to be.

In regards to the Los Olivos shopping center: the design seems off, but I can't put my finger on why it felt that way. Architecturally speaking, it's incredibly vanilla, and not interesting or beautiful by any means (but I don't think anyone else would care about that). Other than that, it's a decent shopping center. There seems to be a good selection of stores and restaurants. It's nice that they opened a new Panini Cafe there. If you haven't been, I highly recommend you try it. Their chicken kabobs are great, and the prices are really reasonable.

villager you are right. OH complex would be perfect. 5 min drive from EW/WB. that's the spot right there. Or build it in the old Zion market plaza. even closer :D
