Looks like Irvine is developing as a city with high density residential. Sad?

Came from a state where less than 20 students are put in one ES classroom and squeezed in an Irvine classroom with more than 30 students. That even can't guarantee your children to be accepted by certain schools although you live within their attendance area. It isn't cool, is it? Shall we speak up?

Nobody holds a gun to your head.

Actually, Irvine is trying to squeeze more people in while trying to maintain the suburbia image.  We're not anywhere near real high density residential.

A true master planned, high density residential project is what you'd see in Singapore, with real public transportation & light rail.

Hope that NEVER happens in Irvine.  High density residential should all take place in Downtown LA.  Irvine should always remain as a mastered planned suburbia community.  All the apartments going up is a real bummer.......

I believe this school overcrowding issues is mostly concentrated in the new developed area with high percentage of young first time homeowners with school age kids.

In the most of older area of Irvine, the elementary school are actually under enrolled.  Few years ago, IUSD close down two elementary school in Woodbridge and University Park due to low enrollment.

CV Elementary are building more classrooms to alleviate the crowding issue and EW Elementary with 1,000 students capacity are opening this Fall,  hope these will solve most of the crowding issue.

Actullay our school located inside the loop is very crowded, if not worse than those inside the new developed area.
