The twitterverse is inflamed.

This years winner reported at 5' 3" went from 260 pounds to 105 pounds.

BMI calcs at 18.6, one more pound and 18.4, underweight.

And a comment about the unhealthy loss not being strong fit, just skinny.

I'll lead in with the first comment.  Personally, I think she went too far, but she's definitely recoverable.  She's on the edge and it's the kind of lean out you get when you first recover you athletic side.

IMHO, she needs to add a little muscle mass because I agree with the twitter comment-er about the arm photo not being the arm of a stong n fit young woman.  Frankly, I think the original before after highlights the unhealthy aspect of the speed of weight loss by how much older she looks, IMHO, she looks like a skinny 40y.o.

Overall an incredible accomplishment and when you're that small, +/- 5 pounds really does make a huge difference.  I think it would be interesting to know the body fat percentage.  It is a competition weight loss so that drive for an extra five pounds is understandable.

Perhaps B.L. can modify their program to focus on health and not the weight number and start doing dunk tank tests for body fat.  I'd guess she's pushing the low end of this spectrum, although it's possible she's not if her overall muscle mass is reflected by that arm photo.

That said, if she has gone from 260 to competing in tri-athaons than harsh leanness is to be expected.

Oh, is she 40 or does she just look like it? Sadly, her face has aged 15 years with the weight loss. I don't watch the show but wondered how old she is when I saw her pic in the news.

She looks anorexic to me.

The still frame grabs look worse than the motion she seems more balanced in motion and not quite so skinny.

In that video, she actually looks a bit awkward, like she's used to being bigger.

Only 24? Wow... she looks older than that. What is the time reference here? How long did it take for her to lose 155 pounds?

white women typically look older.

if she lost her weight exercising and eating appropriately i dont know that there is such a thing as losing weight to fast.  if she was starving herself then that is a different story.

cmon guys - she lost 155 pounds, the health benefits of doing that far outweigh how she looks.

To clarify, she looks 24 in her before pic... and older in her after pic. But that might be the extra makeup and gaunter look.

I don't think anyone is disparaging her here.

And yes, there is such a thing as losing weight too fast... it can take a toll on your internal organs. I obviously have never had that problem.

I think, since I don't watch the show, internet research, the total time period is a bit distorted.  It's a 12 week season, but there is an additional 12 week lag 'going home' between the 11th episode and finale.

She weighed in at 150 on the 11th episode.  ~90 days later, she weighed in at 105.  And apparently claims she had a bit of 'falling off the wagon' and gain weight on going home.

So basically 30% of her body weight in 12 weeks.  Or a maintained 4 pounds a week for someone reporting at high end of normal weight.  Apparently previously she reported at 5'4", but now reports say 5'3"

All combined just over 5 lbs a week for just short of a 1/2 year.

2 Truths 1 Lie

1) Her face in the before picture is prettier.
2) Definitely not too skinny.
3) She looks 25 in the after photo, too.
