I know this topic was posted already but I noticed that some of the covenent hills prices have come down. For instance Capistrano started at $1.3 and now in the LA times it is advertised for low $1 millions. Is there a catch here or are prices moving that drastically?

One of our frequent posters here, Red, has noted new home prices are way down even here in Irvine. In some of the other threads, people have posted prices from new and old price lists. The worst part for the builders is that sales are not improving even after the price reductions. More declines are likely on the way.
 
Earl - Village of Columbus and Portola Springs have had 10-15% price reduction to last spring/summer pricing. No catch really that is just the way the market is right now for new homes.
