<p>San Diego is a great idea. I just searched and the Hyatt prices are much more reasonable than say the St. Regis - thankfully most of us live close enough to the St. Regis to just spend the day there and not have to pay for the overnight stay. The restaurant looks amazing though - definitely a must try. Too bad it'll be a table for one. </p>

Have you booked the Hyatt? If not, check <a href="http://www.hotelsolamar.com/">Hotel Solamar</a>. It's a hipster's dream come true. Awesome pool deck bar, especially in the evenings when it's a glorified nightclub. Although rack rate is expensive, you might be able to find a bargain on HotWire (I did once). It's also walking distance to Petco.
